Our full-spectrum design services take you from preliminary sketches to the finished product — most pieces in three to four weeks — with one-on-one conversations with our master jewelers at every step.

In-House Design & Fabrication

A GIA-Trained Gemologist On Site
Diamonds and colored stones are selected and evaluated by a Gemological Institute of America graduate, so you know exactly what is going into your design.
Family Owned Since 1920
Three generations of the Morin family have run this store. We will still be here for sizing, cleaning and repairs long after your piece is finished.
You See It Before It Is Made
Every design is approved by you at the sketch and 3D rendering stages. Nothing is made until the piece on screen is the piece you want.

A proposal stone, then a ring designed together
Rob and Bruce were extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. I was expecting to propose to my girlfriend on Christmas, but the ring design she liked would not delivered on-time. Bruce came up with an excellent alternative. He told me he could get the stone prior to Christmas, and offered the idea to present her the stone, then return to the store after the holidays, and design the ring together. That idea removed all the stress I had to find a ring in time and it worked out beautifully. Rob assisted us with finding the ring my fiance' loved. Rob and Bruce have decades of experience, they're friendly, and enjoy sharing their experience with you. I am very grateful to my fiancé's girlfriend for bringing me to the store where her husband bought her rings. In three stages. We start with a consultation and a hand sketch of your idea, turn the approved sketch into a 3D CAD rendering you can review from every angle, then make the piece, set your stones and finish it by hand. You approve the design at each stage before we move forward.
How long does a custom piece take?
Most custom pieces take three to four weeks, with occasional exceptions. We will give you a timeline for your piece at your consultation, so you know when to expect it.
How much does custom jewelry cost?
It depends on the piece and the choices you make. The type of jewelry, the metal, the stones and the detail in the design all set the price, so we talk through your budget at the consultation and help you make choices that fit it.
What kinds of custom pieces can you make?
Our custom work ranges from diamond engagement rings and wedding bands through to pendants, earrings and custom engraving. If you have something in mind that is not on that list, bring the idea in and we will tell you what is possible.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before I come in?
No. Some people arrive with a detailed drawing and others with a single photo or just a description. The consultation exists to turn whatever you have into a design, and you will have plenty of opportunities to specify exactly what you want along the way.
Will I see the design before it is made?
Yes. You see a sketch first, then a detailed 3D CAD rendering of the finished piece. Details can be adjusted at either stage, and nothing is made until you approve the final design.
Can I choose a natural or a lab-grown diamond?
Both. Morin Jewelers works with natural and lab-grown diamonds, and our GIA-trained gemologist will explain the difference so you can compare them side by side before you decide.
Do I need an appointment to start a custom project?
An appointment is not required, but it does mean a designer is set aside for you. You can book a consultation, start a project online, or walk into the store at 409 Main Street during business hours.
